Park City Ski Slopes Rack Up 40 Inches New Since Friday

Park City, UT - As yet another winter storm sits poised on the doorstep of Utah’s Wasatch Mountains, Park City Mountain Resort staffers report that their slopes were blanketed with nearly two feet of “The Greatest Snow on Earth” from late Monday night and through Tuesday afternoon. More than 40 inches of new snow has fallen since Friday with the new snowstorm expected to start on Wednesday night.

Ligety to Direct Skiing Operations at Proposed Luxury Private Utah Ski Resort

Beaver, UT - Mt. Holly Club, a private luxury ski and golf resort proposed for the dormant Elk Meadows ski resort, on Wednesday announced that the U.S. Ski Team’s Ted Ligety, Olympic gold medal skier and World Cup champion, will serve as the club’s director of skiing operations. Ligety will oversee growth of the planned ski-in/ski-out private resort — the mirror image of the golf-in/golf-out capability prospective members hope to enjoy in the summer playing the resort’s proposed Jack Nicklaus Golf Club golf course.

Biathlete Wins Snowy Men’s 15K Freestyle at Nordic Ski Worlds

Sapporo, Japan - Biathlete Lars Berger of Norway was the surprise gold medalist Wednesday in the men’s 15K freestyle at the 2007 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships as a harder-than-expected snowstorm struck midway through the starting field. Lars Flora and James Southam (both Anchorage, AK) had the top U.S. results, finishing 57th and 58th in the field of 119 racers.

State of Vermont Boosts Winter Marketing Campaign

Carlson and Olenick to Ski at Snow Trails

Keystone Hosts Sundown Showdown Rail Sessions

Keystone, CO - Every Thursday night in March, Keystone Resort gives skiers and riders a chance to throw down their best trick in the Colorado ski and snowboard resort’s A51 Terrain Park and win prizes. Keystone will host the Sundown Showdown every Thursday in March from 4:30-6:00 p.m.to give skiers and riders the chance to showcase their abilities and win prizes for their shredding abilities. The rail jam series is for both skiers and snowboarders, male and female, and is free to enter. The sessions are open to all ability levels.

Salomon Freeride Championships at Taos Ski Valley This Week
