Park City, UT - As American Skiing Company (ASC) fades from existence, the scramble for ownership of The Canyons became further complicated on Monday with the filing of additional litigation over the proposed deal to sell the Utah ski and snowboard resort to the Toronto, Canada-based real estate investment firm, Talisker Corporation.

Dublin, Ireland - A study by Irish business research firm Research and Markets has found that the U.S. ski resort industry includes about 350 companies, over 400 ski areas, and combined annual revenue of $2 billion, the firm announced Monday.

The final event at Kokanee Crankworx 2007, the Canadian Open DH took place in the Whistler Mountain Bike Park on Sunday. Fabien Barel of France took first place with a time of 2:54.1. Riders had one run on this skill testing DH course to post their best time.

Perisher Valley (NSW), Australia - Thanks to the Braun CruZer3 Rail Jam, the 2007 Planet X Winter Games will bear witness to two of the best freeride skiers versus two of the best snowboarders as they go head-to-head on the rails in the terrain park at Australia’s Perisher Blue ski resort on August 10th. For the first time, the winner of this contest will be judged by the general public in a quest to end the long standing feud over which sport dominates the rails, snowboarding or skiing.
