Dublin, Ireland - Low-cost air carrier Ryanair announced Thursday that the company will add three additional routes to European ski resorts from Liverpool to Friedrichshafen, Stockholm to Grenoble and from Bournemouth to Milan Bergamo. The company also announced that all passengers who book their seats to the slopes before September 30th will be able to bring their ski equipment along free of charge.

Winter Park, CO - With its recent purchase of Steamboat Ski Resort, Intrawest has announced new season pass products that combine the northern Colorado ski area with the company’s other two in-state holdings, Copper Mountain and Winter Park Resort. Colorado skiers will need to act quickly, however, as the lowest price points are only available through Monday.

Wanaka, New Zealand - Sam Smoothy (NZE) was crowned king of the mountain Wednesday night in Wanaka, taking the top place in the Icebreaker Big Mountain heli-accessed finals as part of the Volkl New Zealand Free Ski Open in front of over 450 spectators at the public judging session in downtown Wanaka.

Wanaka, New Zealand - U.S. Snowboarding will open the international competition season Labor Day weekend when New Zealand’s Cardrona Resort hosts a World Cup halfpipe contest on Saturday. Gretchen Bleiler (Aspen, CO), who won the opener last season, and reigning Chevrolet U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix champion Tommy Czeschin (Mammoth Lakes, CA), are among the riders expected to compete.
