Keystone to Open Ski Season a Week Early

Keystone, CO - Keystone today announced an earlier-than-expected opening for the Colorado ski and snowboard resort’s 2007-2008 winter season this Friday, along with more snow expected today. For the season opening, Keystone’s A51 terrain park team is creating the largest park offering thus far this season in the country with 20 rails, boxes, wall rides and other terrain park features.

2007-08 Squad is Largest Ski Team in Canadian History

Calgary, Canada - The largest-ever Canadian ski team, anchored by two World Cup champions from last season as well as World Championship silver medalist Jan Hudec (Calgary, AB), will be looking to build off of last season’s record-setting performance as Canada hosts 10 World Cup alpine ski races in 2007-08.

Telluride Opens Palmyra Peak to Skiing

Telluride, CO - On the heels of Telluride’s opening of Black Iron Bowl to public access, the Colorado ski and snowboard resort has gained approval for skiing and riding on Palmyra Peak this winter. Located east of Black Iron Bowl and Prospect Bowl, this newly-opened hike-to terrain includes well over 200 acres and almost 2,000 vertical feet on the north face of 13,320 foot Palmyra Peak.

Renewal at Vermont’s Middlebury College Snow Bowl

Middlebury, VT - Renewing is as important as creating new in the case of Vermont’s Middlebury College Snow Bowl. After becoming the first totally carbon neutral ski area in the country in 2006-07, the Snow Bowl will offset all of its carbon emissions again this year as a new state-of-the-art ski racing scoreboard will adorn the slopes and cross-country ski trails are being recontoured.

It’s No Trick: Eastern Skiing on Halloween a Sunday River Treat

Newry, ME - Thanks to a string of cold nights allowing for intensive snowmaking, Sunday River ski resort will be the first ski area to offer lift-serviced skiing and snowboarding in eastern North America for the 2007-2008 ski season. The Maine ski resort today announced a Halloween opening tomorrow morning.
