Mancuso 2nd in GS; Vonn Holds Overall lead

Lienz, Austria - Olympic champion Julia Mancuso (Olympic Valley, CA) was second Friday in a World Cup giant slalom - her third straight top-3 - to move into second place overall behind teammate Lindsey Vonn (Vail, CO) in the World Cup standings. Italy’s Denise Karbon swept her third straight GS with Mancuso, runner-up to her in the season opener Oct. 27, also moving into second in GS points.

Pats Peak Adult Ski and Snowboard Race League Starts Wednesday

Henniker, NH - New Hampshire’s Pats Peak ski area is inviting skiers and snowboarders to form teams to compete in the Pats Peak Adult/Corporate Racing Series. Individuals or those who don’t have a complete team can easily be placed on other teams. The cost is $650 per team and includes weekly races for nine consecutive weeks, a lift ticket from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. on race nights, prizes, après-ski party each race night and an awards dinner at the end of the series.

Aloha! Meet the Snowpark Tour 2008

Kaprun, Austria - The seventh edition of the Snowpark Tour, set for terrain parks throughout Austria, Switzerland and Germany, will be inspired by the spirit of Hawaii in 2008. But instead of dancing the hula at the beach, participants in Europe’s biggest rookie ski and snowboard tour will do the slopestyle at ten tour stops en route to the finals at the DC Central Park at Kitzsteinhorn in Zell am See-Kaprun, Austria March 15 and 16. The tour’s kick-off will take place on January 12 and 13 at Engadin/St.Moritz, Switzerland.

2008 Subaru U.S. Freeskiing Series Schedule Announced

Salt Lake City, UT - Entering its third year, the Subaru U.S. Freeskiing Series (USFS) and Freeskiing World Tour (FWT) have become the largest cohesive competitive Big Mountain Freeskiing tours in the history of the sport, with the Subaru USFS featuring an unprecedented six stops in 2008. With two new locations added this year, both tours culminate at Alyeska Resort in Girdwood, Alaska, in April.
