U.S. Freeskiing Open Returns to Copper Mountain

Copper Mountain, CO - Now in its eleventh year, the US Freeskiing Open presented by Suzuki, will return to Copper Mountain, Colo. Thursday through Sunday, bringing together hundreds of the world’s best new-school ski athletes and thousands of eager spectators. Athletes will compete in three different disciplines: Superpipe, Slopestyle and Big Air, for a combined $60,000 prize purse.

New Hampshire Ski Areas Strengthen Environmental Efforts

N. Woodstock, NH - One of the most alluring attributes of New Hampshire ski areas is the beautiful environment in which they are located. Surrounded by beautiful mountains and lakes, it’s logical that ski resorts want to be environmentally friendly and contribute to the effort to combat climate change. Over the past several years many of New Hampshire’s ski areas have begun to embrace and implement policies that will help to ensure these places are here for future generations to enjoy.

Skiing and the Super Bowl Can Mix After All

Salt Lake City, UT - Just because the Super Bowl is played this Sunday doesn’t mean you have to give up skiing for the weekend. Ski runs are decidedly less crowded during the game weekend, especially in the Northeast from which this year’s two competing teams hail, and ski resorts not only in the Northeast but across the U.S. are planning special events to coincide wih the big game and to entice you to the slopes.

Sugarloaf, Sunday River and Loon Mountain Ski Resorts Name Terrain Park Developm

Newry, ME - The New England ski and snowboard resorts of Sugarloaf and Sunday River, both in Maine, and New Hampshire’s Loon Mountain have announced the promotion of Jay Scambio to the newly-created role of Terrain Park Development Manager. Scambio will work closely with the resort teams and park staff at the three ski resorts to elevate the quality of freestyle terrain and associated events and programs.
