Girdwood, AK - Alaska’s Alyeska Resort continued to open up the goods to telemark freeskiers vying for the title of best in their world. The ski and snowboard resort south of Anchorage opened terrain previously untouched since 1999 competitions for day two the 1st Annual World Telemark Freeskiing Championships. The thigh pumping, heart stopping North Face Prow became the showcase for the remaining 46 competitors who stood up to the judges cut from Day One. After surviving and excelling through the challenges of the first days venue in the Shadows, it was Nick deVore of Aspen, Colorado and Megan Michelson of Boulder, Colorado who skied away with the titles of Champions.

Bozeman, MT - Montana’s Bridger Bowl ski area near Bozeman announced today that thanks to a 100-inch base still on the slopes they will extend the 2007-08 ski and snowboard season by adding six customer appreciation days.

Aspen, CO - Chris Davenport, Aspen/Snowmass and Helly Hansen team athlete, and Danny Brown dominated the inaugural Helly Hansen Battle in the Bowls on Sunday at Colorado’s Aspen Highlands ski area, taking home $1,000 in prize money.

Huntsville, UT - Four hundred inches of snow this ski season makes for epic skiing, but snow depths have forced modifications to the 8th Annual Meltdown Race, scheduled for April 12 at Utah’s Snowbasin Resort. Replacing the Pole (Downhill skiing/snowboarding), Pedal (Bike), Paddle (Kayak) will be the Pole (Downhill), Kombi (gates, rollers and jumps), Criterium Bike (Mountain or Road, six laps around the ski resort’s Olympic Lot for three miles total).

Park City, UT - The U.S. Ski Team’s Michael Morse (Duxbury, MA) pulled out all the stops to earn his second U.S. moguls skiing title of the weekend as he and Michelle Roark (Denver) won the Nature Valley Freestyle Challenge dual moguls competition, concluding the 2008 Sprint U.S. Freestyle Championships at Deer Valley Resort on Sunday.

Fairbanks, AK - Liz Stephen (East Montpelier, VT) added another U.S. national cross-country skiing title to her resume this weekend winning the women’s 30K U.S. Cross Country Distance Championships on Sunday in Fairbanks. Frode Lillefjell (Anchorage, AK) nabbed the title in the men’s 50K, finishing in third but was the top American skier.
