Bretton Woods May Start Ski Season Early

Bretton Woods, NH - With the arrival of cold air, New Hampshire’s Bretton Woods ski resort has commenced snowmaking operations, and a top resort official indicated on Wednesday that guests may be skiing and snowboarding sooner than planned.

Colorado’s Copper Mountain Ski Resort Village Development Approved

Copper Mountain, CO - Copper Mountain last month received approval from Summit County, Colorado officials to move forward with the next stage of the ski resort’s village and base area development. Included in the re-zoning application are 590 units of residential and hotel density, employee and affordable housing, improved parking, transportation and pedestrian flow, perpetual funding for community programs, wetlands and open space creation and construction of a recreation path throughout the resort base area.

Sunday River Opens for Skiing a Day Early

Newry, ME - Proving that their announcement of a Halloween debut of the 2008-09 ski and snowboard season was a trick and not a treat after all, Maine’s Sunday River surprised anxious New England skiers and riders by firing up their lifts on Thursday for access to the T2 trail on upper Locke Mountain, a day ahead of schedule.

Trek World Cup DH Team Announced

One month following the announcement of the three Cross Country riders that will form half of the new World Cup team sponsored by Trek Bicycles, 23 Degrees Sports Management announces today that the downhill half of the new team will also be made up of three riders; two men and a woman. The two men will be Justin Leov (NZL) and Andrew Neethling (RSA), while the top level woman rider will be announced on December 1st.
