Wrightwood, CA - Mountain High is bringing a rocking college party to its ski slopes this winter with its new program, College Night at Mountain High. College Night at Mountain High is a series of three Thursday night parties created to bring Southern California college students together on the snow. College Night will take place from 5 to 10 p.m. at the Bullwheel Bar & Grill at Mountain High West on January 15, February 12, and March 12, 2009.

Colorado’s Aspen/Snowmass ski resort is rolling out back-to-back evenings of Bud Light Hi-Fi Concerts at the base of Aspen Mountain during ESPNs Winter X Games 13, January 22 25, 2009. The additional show on January 24 will extend the popular Bud Light Hi-Fi Concert Series that has been entertaining Aspen/Snowmass for the past several years.

January is National Learn a SnowSport Month at alpine ski resorts, nordic centers, and state and national parks across the United States. Twenty-three states are offering special learn to alpine ski, snowboard, cross-country and snowshoe packages to locals, and Ski Utah’s 13 member resorts will once again be offering special beginner deals with their Lucky 13 promotion.

Belleayre Mountain will be opening the Terrain Park on the New York State ski and snowboard resort’s Area 51 trail this season. The park, which is set to open this week, will have a different set up and include new features. The park crew has been working hard and getting creative with the new design, and ski resort officials assert that this will be one of the most impressive parks Belleayre has built to date. Staffers are also setting up a competition-style bumps course on the lower Wanatuska trail.

Irvine, CA - Foursquare Outerwear, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), has announced a voluntary recall of approximately 1,300 of the company’s youth hooded ski and snowboard jackets. The jackets have a drawstring through hood which poses a strangulation hazard to children.
