The contest is an opportunity for up-and-coming pro photographers, skiers and snowboarders to break onto the scene during a three-day catskiing competition throughout Island Lake’s world renowned terrain.

North Vancouver (BC), Canada - The Canadian Snowboard Federation (CSF) held its largest National Adaptive Snowboarding Championships Thursday at Grouse Mountain ski area in North Vancouver, where athletes from five nations competed for the title. The championships were followed by an innovative Sport Building Workshop with stakeholders from around the globe which occurred Friday in Vancouver.

February will mark the 50th anniversary since William (Bill) Levitt purchased the Alta Lodge in 1959. Arriving in Utah from New York City in 1954, Levitt fell in love with Alta and its legendary skiing. Alta Lodge opened in 1939 as the Utah ski area’s first hotel. When the opportunity came along to purchase the Alta Lodge, he took it.

Alta, UT - Jesse Tronier, a member of the Sugarhouse Boys & Girls Club, will be on skis for his fourth time on Saturday. Jesse, an only child raised by a single father, is a 12-year old who has really found himself as a leader and a productive follower through his two years at the Boys & Girls Club, says club director Ben Trentleman. Learning how to ski from professional skiers such as Rachael Burks and Lynsey Dyer, among others, is helping to take his empowerment one step further. Jesse is now making parallel turns thanks to SheJumps.
