Sun and Longo Clinch Last Halfpipe World Cup Before the 2010 Olympic Winter Games

Calgary, Canada - China’s Zhifeng Sun and Arthur Longo of France won the fifth halfpipe contest of the 2010 LG Snowboard FIS World Cup season, and the last before the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, in Calgary Saturday night.

Icelandic Rookie Helgason Takes Gold in Snowboard Big Air at X Games

Bleiler Takes Hometown X Games Gold

Aspen, CO - With thousands of her hometown fans cheering her on, the first lady of Aspen, Gretchen Bleiler, threw down a huge 900 on the first hit of her second run to win her fourth Winter X Games gold in Aspen Saturday in Women’s Snowboard SuperPipe. In what may be a prelude to what they have in store for Vancouver, Bleiler’s Olympic teammates Kelly Clark (West Dover, Vt.) and Hannah Teter (Belmont, Vt.) joined her on the podium in second and third.

Kushnir and Li dominate World Cup Aerials in Quebec

Sainte-Adèle (QC), Canada - Anton Kushnir of Belarus and Nina Li of China won the men’s and women’s aerials events, respectively, on Saturday at the FIS World Cup Aerials finals at Ski Mont Gabriel in Sainte-Adèle. They also both convincingly took away the crystal globes for the World Cup Aerials overall men’s and women’s points leaders.

Brown Wins Men’s Skiing Slopestyle Gold at Winter X Games 14

Aspen, CO - On Friday night, Breckenridge, Colo.’s Bobby Brown personified perfection with a perfect score in Skiing Big Air at Winter X Games 14 in Aspen. In Saturday afternoon’s Men’s Skiing Slopestyle, he wasn’t quite perfect, but his final round score of 94.33 was enough to beat Andeas Hatveit’s (Norway) 92.00.

Holland Marks Fifth In a Row at X Games

Aspen, CO - - It was Nate Holland’s day Saturday as the Olympic Valley, Calif. resident took winning Winter X Games gold to a whole new level, marking the games’ first five-peat with his win in snowboardcross.

Jacobellis "Three-Peats" in Women’s Snowboarder X at Winter X Games 14

Aspen, CO - The third consecutive gold medal in Women’s Snowboarder X didn’t come easy for Stratton Mountain, Vt.’s Lindsey Jacobellis as she had to come from behind and hold off a hard-charging Helene Olafsen of Norway to capture the crown at Winter X Games 14 in Aspen on Saturday.

First-Ever World Cup Snowboarding Slopestyle Staged in Canada

Ligety Gets Second GS Podium in Kranjska

Kranjska Gora, Slovenia - A day after cruising to his third consecutive giant slalom victory at Kranjska Gora, Ted Ligety, of Park City, Utah, battled from behind for third in yet another GS on Saturday, his fourth Audi FIS Alpine World Cup ski racing podium result of the season.
