Northug Wraps Up Olympics With 50K Gold

Whistler (BC), Canada - Norway’s Petter Northug won his second gold medal in Sunday’s men’s 50K mass start classic cross country ski race. James Southam, of Anchorage, Alaska, finished 28th to lead the U.S. in the final ski event at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.

Randall Earns Personal Best at 30K

Whistler (BC), Canada - American cross country skier Kikkan Randall, of Anchorage, Alaska, had her best-ever distance finish in the Olympic women’s 30K mass start classic on Saturday. The gold medal went to Poland’s Justyna Kowalczyk, with Marit Bjoergen of Norway earning silver and the bronze medal going to Finland’s Aino-Kaisa Saarinen.

Canadian Snowboarder Jasey Jay Anderson Wins Olympic Gold

West Vancouver (BC), Canada - Amidst the weather’s downpour at Cypress Mountain ski area near Vancouver on Saturday, Canadian rider Jasey Jay Anderson, of Mont-Tremblant, Quebec, ended his Olympic drought by winning the gold medal in men’s parallel giant slalom (PGS).

Netherlands Takes Home PGS Gold

West Vancouver (BC), Canada - The Netherlands’ Nicolien Sauerbreij won Olympic gold in ladies parallel giant slalom (PGS) on Friday, beating Russian snowboarder Ekaterina Ilyukhina in the final. Michelle Gorgone, of Boston, Mass., the only U.S. snowboarder entered, finished 14th after losing in the first round on a late charge from Ilyukhina.

Demong Honored as U.S. Flag Bearer for Olympic Closing Ceremonies

Vancouver, Canada - Billy Demong of Vermontville, N.Y., U.S. gold medalist in nordic combined skiing, has been selected as flag bearer for the 2010 U.S. Olympic Team for the Closing Ceremony by fellow members of Team USA. Demong, 29, had a busy Thursday, which included winning a gold medal, being named flag bearer, and proposing to his girlfriend.

Tyler McCaul Triple Tail Whip!

It’s been a great weekend for the Olympics with Canada taking gold in Men’s Hockey. But in the bike world great things were also happening. Tyler McCaul threw down a triple tail whip on the Mega Ramps with his brother Cam watching on.
