Scheduled to open in 2009, The Westin Queenstown will be the fifth Westin in the Asia Pacific region, joining Westin hotels in Auckland, Melbourne, Sydney and Denarau Island, Fiji. Starwood, the Westin brands parent company, will manage the hotel.

Wanaka, New Zealand - 2005 Winter X Games ski slopestyle gold medalist Charles Gagnier today claimed the winning title at the Coca-Cola Cardrona Games slopestyle event rescheduled from Saturday due to bad weather, while New Zealands top freestyle skier Jossi Wells followed in second place.
